Tim Gunn called all the designers together and told them that after a thorough investigation that he was confident that Jeffrey did all of the work on his collection himself.

However, Tim Gunn said that Jeffrey did not have a receipt for one pair of pleated shorts and that he went over budget by $227.95.  To make up for the lost receipt and going over budget, Jeffrey had to remove the shorts and another item from his collection.   Tim Gunn said that the judges would also be informed about Jeffrey going over budget.

After the fashion show, the judges gave feedback to the designers.  Michael Kors told Laura Bennett that her designs were gorgeous but they were missing a surprise factor.  Fern Mallis told Michael Knight that he was the obvious crowd favorite but that she was disappointed in his collection.  Even though the judges raved over Jeffrey Sebelia’s collection, Heidi Klum pointed out that he went over budget.  Heidi Klum told Uli Herzner that she would wear every outfit of hers that she saw coming down the runway, but Michael Kors said her colors were disjointed.  

After the judges deliberated, they called all the designers in front of them.  Heidi Klum told Michael Knight that he needed time to mature as a designer and that he was out.  Heidi Klum told Laura Bennett that her collection was too limited and that she was out.  The final two were Uli Herzner and Jeffrey Sebelier.  Heidi Klum told Jeffrey Sebelier that his collection was innovative, cohesive, and showed his range.  Heidi Klum told Uli Herzner that she created a beautiful collection that every woman would want to wear.

After a dramatic pause, Heidi Klum congratulated Jeffrey Sebelier as the winner of Project Runway 3.  For winning the competition, Jeffrey Sebelier received a spread in Elle magazine, a mentorship with INC International Concepts Design, a 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster, a year of representation from Designers Management Agency, and a $100,000 to start their own line.
